PLUS SI Signature Course Support The Learning Curve Campus Presentations Referring Students to usOur career counselors meet with students individually for in-depth exploration of their career decision-making process. This is the first step for students who might benefit from taking some career assessments. Other common topics for discussion include choosing or changing your major or career, graduate school planning, and how to obtain an internship.Our learning specialists offer individual consultations with students on topics like time management, effective studying, and test preparation. If you know a student who could benefit from a consultation, please refer them to us. Peer-Led Undergraduate Studying (PLUS)The PLUS program benefits both faculty and students enrolled in their classes. Students in PLUS supported courses have a more positive overall experience in the class and typically perform better than their peers. Faculty have the opportunity to get to know a select group of highly motivated students throughout the semester. And these benefits come with only a minimal time commitment (less than 1 hour a week) and at no cost!Supplemental Instruction (SI)SI trains graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate SI leaders to run specially designed discussion sections that reinforce and clarify course content while integrating study and reasoning skills. Data collected both nationally and locally for more than 30 years confirms that regular SI attendance has a significant positive effect on final course grades. Signature Course TA's constitute a special cohort who have been recruited for their commitment to helping students mature intellectually while familiarizing them with the expectations of university-level coursework.
