Your counselor will review it for 10-15 minutes, then provide feedback. For additional assistance with your personal statement or resume, please visit the Undergraduate Writing Center or the Graduate Student Writing Service. They will be happy to critique your personal essay, your resume, CV, or any other materials you prepare for graduate school applications, scholarship applications, and more. Consultants at these services have also been trained to help you learn how to identify and correct mistakes in grammar and mechanics. Graduate Student Writing Service Mock InterviewsMost professional schools and some graduate schools will interview applicants prior to selection for admission. We can help you prepare for this important event by conducting a mock interview with you. After the mock interview, your counselor will offer suggestions and give you constructive feedback on your responses, nonverbal behavior, attire and more. When you schedule your appointment, ask specifically for a mock interview. Complete the Graduate & Professional School Interview Preparation Form by downloading it or picking up a hard copy in our Center. Please bring your completed form to our office at least 24 hours before your appointment to ensure your counselor has time to prepare. We suggest you come to your mock interview appointment dressed in your interview attire. IE Pre-Graduate School InternshipSome students are getting a head start on figuring out if graduate school is for them - by connecting with a grad student for a pre-grad internship! The Intellectual Entrepreneurship Program (IE) is nationally recognized, and is becoming a model for other universities. The purpose of the IE Pre-Graduate School Internship is to connect undergraduates with faculty and veteran graduate students - to explore what graduate school is really like. IE pre-grad interns work primarily with the graduate mentor and secondarily with a faculty supervisor. The internship experience is open to all UT-Austin undergraduate students.
